Little tasks help achieve great goals

Everyone should have any number of little aims about which they should be conscious and for which they should have names, but they should have neither name for, nor consciousness concerning, the main aim of their life.

Samuel Butler

OK. I know!

That's a bit wordy, I get that, but take a moment to think about what it's trying to say!

You should have many small, achievable goals.

And achieving one goal will inevitable lead you to set more.

Sometimes, the next goals will be predictable. Sometimes something in your life will have changed, and the next set of goals may take you in an unexpected direction.

But let's not forget the key point here.

We need to focus on achieving those small goals. If we don't, and we focus too much on a mythical end result, we will never get there.

It's only by achieving the small goals that we can achieve the bigger ones.

So:

  1. Set SMART goals
  2. Focus on achieving those goals
  3. let the bigger goals take care of themselves
